OLYMPIAKSO BEAT UNITED

The defeat in the Champions League match against the Greek Club Olympiakos yesterday has upset the Manchester United owners and there have been reports that if the performance of the team deteriorates even more in the remaining part of the season, they might opt for a different manager in the summer.

Manchester United is not one of those clubs which sack the manager frequently. That’s why it was being believed that they would give their new manager David Moyes one more chance and would persist with him in the next season, but, it seems that the owners are now fed up with the continuous poor performances put up by the team.

As far as this season is concerned, United’s chances of winning any trophy are pretty bleak now. They can’t win the Premier League from this stage and to move further in the champions League, they will have to play out of their skins in the second leg of the pre quarter final match against Olympiakos.

Yes, that match will be played at Old Trafford which is the home ground of United, but, they haven’t played that well there either in the ongoing season. So, their fans would not be too much optimistic; that’s for sure.

However, if Moyes stays at Old Trafford, he would definitely get a huge amount of money to spend during the summer transfer window.

Currently United is at the sixth position in the league points table. They have secured 45 points in the 27 matches that they have played.

They are not even looking like finishing in top 4 let alone winning the title.

The Red Devils will lock horns with West Bromwich Albion in their next league game in about 10 days’ time. That will be an away match for them.
