Olympiakos have won their 6th successive league title with a dominating season that has seen the team of Marco Silva winning 22 matches from their opening 24 games.

This is the 43rd piece of silverware that Olympiakos has secured in their history and even though this season has already been very successful for the Greek club, the manager of the team has revealed that he is aiming to win more titles as things are far from over.

The fans are expecting Michael Skibbe to bring as much success to Greece as his compatriot Otto Rehhagel did.

Rehhagel proved to be one of the best coaches in the history of Greece soccer before quitting in 2010.

He worked with the national side for a period of almost 10 years and unearthed many young talents and not only did he unearth them; but, developed them quite well too.

There would be a lot of Greek players who would say that they owe their careers to that legendary coach.

But, since the time Rehhagel left, the Greek association has struggled to find another one like him.

Women’s soccer has been on the up in recent years and this has been confirmed by the tremendous interest shown in the women’s World Cup that has been taking place in the United States.

The Spanish League, La Liga is considered to be a 3 horse race with only Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic Madrid being the only clubs in the top tier league of Spain that have a true and genuine chance of emerging as champions but similar things are occurring in Greece as Olympiacos have dominated the past years.

Samsung have sponsored Chelsea since 2005 and the Korean giants decided to re-new a new deal with the Premier League club in 2013 which was believed to be worth around 18 million pounds. Yokohama Rubber has replaced Samsung as Chelsea has announced that they have made an agreement with the Japanese tire company which will start in the next season and extends for 5 years.

This new deal with The Japanese Rubber Company Limited is worth around £40 million each season which falls a bit short of Manchester United’s deal with the car manufacturer Chevrolet that is valued at £47 million.

Greece head coach Kostas Tsanas says that he is struggling to explain the reason for Greece’s neighbours Turkey to struggle a lot when it comes to international football.

Greece football Federation have brought in Kostas Tsanas as the interim coach going forward. They are expected to make a permanent appointment after having a good look at this temporary solution.
