Dynamo Kyiv and Olympiakos Play out 2-2 Draw

Dynamo Kyiv and Olympiakos were almost inseparable in the first leg of the Europa league last 32 match after playing out a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki.

Dynamo Kyiv entered into the match hopeful about picking up something from the match that would give them confidence ahead of the return leg at home. It was exactly the case with the team managing to score from both the shots on target in the match.

Even though Olympiakos were able to get the lead after just nine minutes through Koka, the blow for the home team came in the 27th minute when Vitaliy Buyalskyy scored the equaliser and the crucial away goal for the Ukrainian team.

Gil Dias was able to put Olympiakos back in front just before the break but this did not end the run of goals in the match. Benjamin Verbič was able to come up with an equaliser with one minute of normal time remaining in the game to score the second away goal for Dynamo Kyiv. These two goals place Olympiakos at a serious disadvantage going into the return leg on 21st. Dynamo Kyiv continue to be a strong team at home and it will be very difficult for Olympiakos, who have seen Dynamo Kyiv go without an away defeat in six matches.

A draw is not enough for Olympiakos since they have to come up with goals in order to neutralise the opposition. The manner of the comeback from Dynamo Kyiv suggests that the team will be harder to beat at home.

However, Europa League away results for Olympiakos are quite disappointing with the wins over Luzern and F91 Dudelange being the only success for the team on the road. These do not quite match up against a Dynamo Kyiv outfit that happen to be quite strong when it comes to home matches in Europe.
