Nikos Karampelas has signed for Valladolid

The former Paniliakos defender, Nikos Karampelas has signed for Valladolid on a 6 months contract from Levante.

Nikos Karampelas made his debut with his hometown side Paniliakos in the Beta Ethniki in 2004. He will make 48 appearances for Paniliakos and scored 2 goals in the process.

His good performance with Paniliakos attracted the interest of other Greek clubs, and two years later he signed for Aris.

However, he will miss a penalty in a 0-0 draw against fierce rivals PAOK and will receive threats from his club’s fans.

During this time at Aris, he will make 32 appearances with them over a period of 2 years. This will prompt him to leave the club and moved to AEK Athens. After a poor first season, he will considerably improve in the second season and will become a valuable player for this team. He will even win the Greek Cup during the 2010-2011 season during his time at AEK Athens. He made 70 appearances for the club over a period of 3 years.

In 2012, the former Paniliakos player will sign for the Spanish side Levante. He made his debut in a game against Atletico Madrid which ended in a 1-1 draw. In his first season in Spain, he will make only 9 appearances for Levante after struggling to adapt to Spanish football.

However, just like at AEK Athens, he will again improve in his second season and become the first-choice left back overtaking JuanFran. He spent four years at Levante where he made 40 appearances for them.

In February 2016, the former Paniliakos man signed a 6 months contract that will see him finish the season in second division side, Real Valladolid.

On the international front, Nikos Karampelas has won a single cap. He made his debut in a game against the Faroe Islands but unfortunately Greece lost this game 1-0.
